International Peace Council for Interfaith Harmony
International Peace Council for Interfaith Harmony (IPCIH) was formed in November by Haji Rana Tahir Rehmat (Advocate), Chairman (IPCIH) with the idea to promote Peace, Interfaith and Harmony, education and health services to eradicate extremism, terrorism & root out poverty, in the Pakistan. Informal contribution was made by the members in these fields. However, the members decided to formally establish the NGO in2011, and run the programs with broader perspective. As such the International Peace Council for Interfaith Harmony (IPCIH) was formally got registered in 2011 under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration & Control) Ordinance, 1961.Few more subjects other than Interfaith Harmony, health and education like environment, child right, women development etc. were also included in the Charter of the International Peace Council For Interfaith Harmony (IPCIH). Since the International Peace Council For Interfaith Harmony (IPCIH) is working in a highly organized and methodical manner on various programs.
An important aspect of the International Peace Council For Interfaith Harmony (IPCIH) is conceptualizing; the interfaith harmony means “a cooperative and positive interaction between people of different religions, traditions, faiths, and spiritual or humanistic beliefs,” at the individual and institutional level. Overall the aim of this organization is to derive a common ground “belief through a concentration on similarities between faiths, understanding of values, and commitment to the world. The bottom line is the promotion of the understanding between various religions to enhance acceptance of each other.
